Patricia Trifunov

Pat's experience and expertise as a senior pharma executive include government and public relations, sales management, health systems strategy, contract negotiations & pricing. She has for six years served as an Executive Advisor for Health Care Sustainability to the Vietnam Veterans of America.

 

Pat has twenty-year+ specialization in strategy, state & federal policies, business, and health systems management. This includes:

 

 

 

  • Sales & sales management expertise in the pharmaceutical industry with three leading companies (Abbott Laboratories, Schering-Plough, GlaxoSmithKline)

  • Direct and management level customer development

  • Successful nine-figure contract negotiations for public healthcare system product access

  • Management of internal and external strategy teams - including managers, directors, area vice presidents, consultants, lobbyists and advocacy managers

           Marian Benz
       Vice President, Market Access

Marian Benz has served as a sales and marketing healthcare executive for more than 25 years. Marian has established herself as a highly qualified, results-oriented business executive with a proven track record of developing and leading teams through profitable and sustainable business growth, enhanced contractual performance, and strengthened customer relationships. 

 

Marian has consistently worked to understand constantly changing market dynamics, and customer needs to successfully ensure favorable product access. As a veteran of the US Air Force, Marian is exceptionally honored to have dedicated more than ten years ensuring veterans, soldiers, and their families have access to the medications and tools they need.  She has earned numerous awards and recognitions over the years and is a member of Healthcare Businesswomen Association (HBA).  Marian also volunteers in the schools and community in which she lives

Michael DeWaal

Chief Operations Officer

 

Michael's career includes manufacturing, production and research engineering in the Defense Industry, with an MBA (Washington Univ. St. Louis Olin School of Business), specializing in international business development and business operations/process improvement.  Michael has a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma (Measure, Root Cause, Adjust, Optimize, Feedback), certifications and complex applications in ISO, Kaizen and Lean Technologies, Statistical Process Control, Taguchi (known also as Design of Experiments) and the Goldratt Institute’s Theories of Constraint. Michael leads Velocity BioGroup's IT and Data Security efforts for internal and external client purposes as well as lending perspective from his research experience in the Department of Defense.

Maureen Sacho
Director of Finance

Maureen Sacho has over 25 years of Human Resources & Accounting experience. Prior to joining Velocity BioGroup, she has worked in a number of industries including Printing, Manufacturing, Construction, and Association Management overseeing several non-profit organizations. Most of her career she has worked directly with Board of Directors, CEOs, Presidents, and Controllers.
Maureen has developed an expertise in the role of a Liaison with Attorneys, outside CPA Firms, Clients, and Vendors. She is proficient in numerous software programs and has extensive experience in office administration, payroll services, accounting and tax services. Her professionalism and attention to
detail, as well as her commitment to client and team member’s needs, is what truly sets her apart.

Research Analysts from both Drexel University's BioMedical Engineering major-provided by the Drexel Steinbright Career and Cooperative Center- and Washington University School of Medicine, support Velocity BioGroup's research, development, mathematics, marketing, client commercialization strategies, client relationship and presentation efforts.            Dan Keeney

 

 

Dan Keeney is a results-driven executive with extensive experience leading state government affairs teams in gaining product access and furthering company interests in the government arena.  Dan works with client companies' managed markets and sales teams to gain preferred product access on Medicaid formularies by channeling effective input into P&T committee meeting product reviews and decision-making processes within the increasingly challenging Medicaid space.

 

Dan has led a team of Medicaid account managers, lobbyists, ADAP specialists and advocacy managers in achieving successful policy outcomes across the Midwest sector.  More recently, Dan led the Medicaid account management team for the Western 28 states for 26 medicines plus HIV and vaccine products for one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.

 

Among Dan’s skill sets are:

  • Developing strategies for formulary placement, advocating with Medicaid Pharmacy, P&T/DUR Committee members & KOLs

  • Managing regulatory and statutory requirements needed for product access

  •  Tracking P&T / DUR committee meetings including clinical and bid submission due dates

  • Tracking and lobbying relevant legislation affecting products or the competitive landscape

Thom Bacon
 

Thom entered the United States Air Force in 1991 following Desert Shield/Storm. In his varied 26 years of military career, Thom had the opportunity to be the Chief of both inpatient and outpatient pharmacies and serve as Chief, USAF Pharmacy Training Programs. He earned the Master of Science degree in Pharmacy Practice in 2006.  His graduate study focused on pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research.

 

He then served for four years as the first Director, Utilization Management at the Pharmacy Operations Directorate, TRICARE Management Activity (or TMA, now known as the Defense Health Agency or DHA). Thom was responsible for advising senior DoD leadership on the utilization of the $7.1 billion pharmacy benefit. As the Designated Federal Officer, Beneficiary Advisory Panel he coordinated the presentation of all DoD P&T decisions to the panel and presented their feedback to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) before they signed the DoD P&T minutes.

 

Thom was the founding director of the DoD Pharmacy Outcomes Research Team, which focused on improving patient outcomes, & enhancing the quality of the Military Health System (MHS) pharmacy benefit through published research and informing P&T committee members. He was the first TMA liaison on pharmacovigilance efforts and represented the DoD as a member of the FDA Drug Safety Board. The last seven years of his career Thom earned the privilege to command two medical operations squadrons (Vance AFB, Nellis AFB); 1 diagnostics and therapeutics squadron (Keesler AFB) and one medical group (Incirlik AB). He retired as a Colonel in 2017.

Account Management, Federal Sales, Sales Management, and Training, New Business

Development, New Product Launches, Strategic Sales Forecasting and Planning, Market Visits, and Field Strategies. 

 

Emphasis on: Pharmaceutical Sales, Multi-State Management, Award-winning Federal Regional Sales Director with extensive experience overseeing the sales and operations of a 16-state region with annual sales revenue of more than $105 Million. Well-developed skills hiring, training, supervising, and motivating sales

teams to perform at their best. Robert is a dedicated leader with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of success increasing sales revenue, leading sales and training programs, and developing sales staff into award-winning Sales Managers. Among all this Robert Mock has won the "Baltic Sea Diamond Award" which is only given to the top 2% in the entire company at GSK.
